Microbusinesses. How Anyone Can Become A Successful Entrepreneur.
Imagine you are going to hike up Everest for the first time.
You arrive at base camp and decide to start hiking up solo. Then, a storm kicks in and makes you realize that you didn’t train enough and don’t have the right equipment. Can you imagine what you would feel out there all alone?
I was this solo hiker when I decided to quit my job to build my Edtech company. I thought I knew what I was getting into. Worse, I thought I had trained enough and acquired all the equipment to grow my company. Yet, ten months into my journey, a blizzard kicked in, making me feel I was hiking Everest solo.
Building a company should not feel this way.
To hike Everest, we first need to be able to hike up a small hill.
The problem is that many aspiring entrepreneurs and company builders try to hike Everest on their first try. We daydream about hiking Everest, and that’s great. We have to be rational optimists, though. Are we ready to hike Everest today?
For many of us, the answer is no. And that is perfectly OK.
Have you ever stopped to think how much time successful Everest climbers invested into their training? How many times have they hiked other smaller mountains? How many hikers, despite their preparation, never get there?
Yet, they keep trying. Why?
Because it’s all about the journey, not the destination.
We have to learn to enjoy hiking even the smallest hills of all.
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop,” said Confucious.
If you enjoy it, you will find ways to keep going, and before you know it, you will be running uphill steep mountains.
Microbusinesses are the small hills for business builders.
They are the solution for so many of us, Everest Daydreamers.
Microbusinesses are fun life projects with no expectations and stigmas around them. They are personal, purpose-driven, and allow us to do what we love. They can become sustainable businesses that enable us to live life on our terms.
These are examples of awesome Microbusinesses:
Build Companies: One-person business. For aspiring entrepreneurs who want to achieve financial independence by doing what they love.
Never Skip A Monday (NSAM): One-person business. A community for people who want to improve their health through exercise, self-acceptance, and long-term habit creation.

Most people think that when it comes to starting a business, we are not prepared and capable because we believe that hiking is not worth it if we don't hike Everest.
At Build Companies, we think differently.
